If you are new to the baby thing, a lot of these names and terms might be new as well. And, as with any company, we do things a bit differently here and may use a different way to describe it. When we first started, we often needed to translate clothing terms with each other to make sure we were on the same page. And now there are new terms cropping up with new innovations and popular styles…
Garments
Original One Piece: The go-to outfit. Sometimes called a jumper or romper. Baby can sleep, play, eat and travel, looking stylish and feeling comfy.
Bodysuit: Also called a onesie, the Bodysuit is a classic staple. Worn with or without pants. We love how the snaps keep baby looking neat and not scrunched up.
Yoga Pant: This staple in the woman’s wardrobe is now made for baby. “Yoga” refers to the shape of the leg – wide and relaxed for movement.
Comfort Sleep Gown: The ultimate baby pajamas. The Sleep Gown, while having the word “gown” in it, is for boys and girls. The elastic bottom allows you to change baby’s diaper at night without disruption. Using the Comfort Sleep Gown also helps teach baby a sleep routine.
Classic Hoodie: A zippered sweatshirt with a hood. We make ours thin (for layering and to avoid a bulky baby), and with a shaped hood that is actually useful and not just decorative.
Bink: Also called a pacifier, the Bink can be a handy tool when used appropriately.
Features
Foldover Cuffs: Handy pieces of fabric on the end of the sleeves. If your baby is a face scratcher, you can fold them over their little hands and protect their faces from their sharp fingernails. Not a scratcher? Leave them as they are. A convertible for the sleeve.
Lower Rise: We pioneered the low-rise baby pant. Our reasoning was not purely for fashion trends, but to avoid the healing belly button, and to sit correctly on baby’s hips.
Tagless: There’s still a tag except it’s printed on the fabric intead of hanging off. Much more comfy.
Raglan: Sleeves that angles down from the neckline and hug baby’s body. Works well on a scrunched up newborn.
Colors
Chocolate: A yummy, warm brown. Like rich hot chocolate.
Sky: A fresh take on basic blue.
Ocean: A richer, darker blue (but good grief, NOT navy).
Watermelon: A yummy pink that is more vibrant and richer than its pastel sister “pink.”
Raspberry: Darker and more saturated than Watermelon, with purple undertones.
Palm: A fresh, tropical and sweet unisex green.
Banana: The classic choice for either boy or girl has been revamped into this rich yellow. This shade of yellow is cool and classic, and truly for boys and girls.
Tangerine: Freshen up that same old orange with a tropical hue that works for boys and girls.
Cherry: A bold yet cute shade of red that is neither fire engine or soupy, and more bing than maraschino. We love it on boys and girls.
Coconut: You can’t go wrong with fresh white. So clean. So modern. So able to be bleached for stain removal.
